free from: gluten and dairy (vegan friendly)
These gluten free banana bread bars are so good we ate them all in 24 hours the first time I made them. I hope you try them and love them. They’re a fun twist on the all-time classic banana bread. The bar form is fun, and great for a crowd too! Basically like banana bread meets blondies.

Recipe Details
These gluten free banana bread bars are also vegan, and can be grain free and/or refined sugar free with some simple swaps. They should be stored in the fridge for best consistency.
Your bananas should be overripe for this recipe, but not too mushy. If they’re really mushy, I recommend trying two bananas instead of three.
My favorite part of the recipe is that these are all ingredients I usually have in the house. So when I see my bananas getting old, I already have everything I need to whip these up. I’ve also made a gingerbread version of these for the holidays. They were so delicious! It’s basically the same recipe with added molasses and ginger.
Basic Ingredients
- Bananas
- Brown sugar
- Non-dairy milk
- Vanilla extract
- Vegan butter
- Flax egg
- Gluten free flour
- Salt
- Baking soda
- Cinnamon
- Chocolate chips
Substitutions:
For grain free, you can use a cassava flour or grain free blend. To make refined sugar free, use coconut sugar in place of brown sugar and a sugar free chocolate chip.
If you don’t want chocolate chips, feel free to play around with the mix-ins. These would be great with nuts too!
